Belmont Park Racecourse redevelopment to transform Perth
The much anticipated redevelopment of the Belmont Park Racecourse is set to transition Perth into an international destination.
Designed and modelled off chic inner-city waterfront developments from around the world – Golden Group’s multibillion dollar investment will create WA’s largest high-density planned community.
The contract to complete Stage 1 infrastructure of the development is currently out to tender as Golden Group celebrated with Premier Mark McGowan at a groundbreaking of the site this morning.
The entire project is expected to inject more than $10 billion into the economy and generate 25,700 West Australian jobs.
The first precinct of the transit-orientated development, directly across from Perth’s brand new Stadium will see the construction of 1500 new apartments lining the Swan River with 6,000m2 in supporting retail and 20,000m2 of commercial space.
Golden Group’s Managing Director Andrew Sugiaputra said, the final stages of the $3.8 billion project will see the peninsula transformed with 4,500 residential apartments, office space and retail form what is set to be one of WA’s most sort out places to live.
“This development will be unlike anywhere else in WA. A curated and obtainable community dedicated to families, down sizers and young couples interested in inner-city lifestyle – a response to Perth’s urban sprawl bringing us in line with Melbourne and Sydney,” he said.
“The Burswood Peninsular is fast becoming Perth’s premium destination for events and this development will only add to that. It’s adjoined to the Belmont Park Racecourse, is footsteps away from the new Perth Stadium and train station, whilst Crown hotels and Casino, and the CBD are literally just minutes away.
“It is almost unheard of to find land like this, being so close to the city with beautiful waterfront views to develop on. It’s an opportunity for residents to invest in what will be a once in a lifetime development.
“The local and connected community will be architecturally designed to fit the needs of different demographics including families, and we will be targeting a 5-star Green Star Communities rating.
“As well as all the advantages that come with being connected to the city, river and events precinct, Belmont Park residents have access to outdoor play spaces, a high-quality parkland setting, and easy access to great recreation, cafes, a grocery store and child care facilities. The precinct’s exceptional and exciting public art will enhance the Belmont Park experience, encouraging children to explore, play and imagine. This is the next level for Perth urban living”, Mr Sugiaputra said.
